CBD, or cannabidiol, is a non-psychoactive extract of the hemp plant. While it does not produce a high, it has a wide range of benefits, from reducing stress to relieving bodily discomfort. Other countries, including Israel, have already been doing research on the effects of CBD. Fortunately, it is finally gaining traction here in the U.S. due to the explosion of research available about the efficacy and safety of CBD for daily use.

Basics of Hemp

Hemp is a member of the cannabis plant family and unlike its more infamous cousin marijuana, typically contains less than 0.3% tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC. THC is the psychoactive ingredient found in marijuana that produces a high. Hemp, on the other hand, will not produce these same psychoactive effects due to its extremely low concentration of THC. THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, is the only part of the hemp plant that produces the psychoactive effect.. There are numerous uses for the hemp plant that do not produce a psychoactive effect, including making fibers for clothing, shampoo and other beauty products, and of course CBD.

GreenPower: Hemp Flowers & Aerial Parts Extract

New GreenPower contains much more than just CBD. Our newest supplement contains the complete spectrum of the hemp plant, which means it contains even more beneficial properties than your run-of-the-mill CBD. It also contains cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, chlorophyll, carbohydrates, omega 3 & 6 fatty acids, vitamins, and trace minerals that provide for the entourage effect. The entourage effect is the process where all of the beneficial parts hemp plant are maintained through extraction and interact with the body’s cannabinoid system to make the CBD more effective.

It is highly unlikely that you can get high or feel the effects of the trace amounts of THC in GreenPower. Typically, you would need much higher amounts of THC to feel the psychoactive effects of getting high and GreenPower does not contain that much THC.

GreenPower contains very minute amounts of THC, typically less than .2%. Only the most sensitive (and expensive) drug tests can detect the amounts of THC in GreenPower. However, if you have any concerns about failing a drug test, we recommend not taking any hemp extract. Typically, GreenPower will not be in your system for more than 24 hours, depending on how much you take and the individual taking it. Even so, we still recommend not using any hemp product for at least a week in advance of any potential drug tests.
